I know what you're thinking; what in the world do the numbers 142857 in Pi have in common with the human body? The answer is: a lot.
Shortly after the sperm meets the egg and they fuse to become a single cell (zygote), the cellular division process (mitosis) takes over. One cell becomes two, two then become four, four become eight, eight turn into sixteen, sixteen to thirty-two, thirty-two to sixty-four, and so on until a human fetus is formed.
To bring this process closer to Pi's digits, take all the numbers found in the cellular division process and reduce each one to a single digit. Like this:
Things are heating up. The cell's final numbers are the same, but in a different order in comparison to the digits found in Pi. One characteristic they both have in common however, is that both series of numbers go on for a very long time. Pi literally goes on forever, whereas the numbers in the cellular division process would continue dividing, except for the fact that as of yet, no one (except perhaps for Jesus and a few others) have succeeded in becoming an immortal. When the mind and body dies, so do the cells inevitably. In order for one to be considered an immortal, he or she would have to take an almost quantum leap in consciousness - and bring their body with them. It would probably take a shift in consciousness so great, so powerful, and so mindblowing that only a small minority of individuals would ever even be able to achieve it. In the mega blockbuster hit The Matrix, Neo had to fight to come to grips with Morpheus' assertion that not only was he living in an artificial world created by machines, but also that his identity as Thomas Anderson was Artificial Intelligence itself! It was only once he shifted his consciousness by allowing himself to take the red pill that Neo became exposed to the real world.
Still too much to swallow? This can't be real, you say? Think again.
Every molecule, every element, every atom within our bodies right now was once a part of other living organisms on the planet. Like it or not, we have kept ourselves alive by literally feeding off the bodies and energies of everyone and everything around us - like a machine living off of an electrical power source. Or like a scavenger feeding off a carcass.
How about our physical world? Is it real? An objective perspective would reveal that essentially, we are aging and fragile Beings existing within a realm that perpetually forces us to breathe, eat, drink, sleep, exercise, excrete fecal matter, and live up to (or rebel from) other's standards in terms of career, appearance, and social status. And this occurs from the time we were born until the day we stop breathing and die. It wouldn't be so bad if this type of social pressure was temporary - if it were experienced but once and forgotten forever. But it isn't. The sad news is that this matrix existed long before we came to be, and it will continue to exist long after we disappear (unless...well, never mind). A giant, fully autonomous intergenerational prison is what we live in, and the only difference between us and a prison inmate is the perceived distance separating us from our cell's walls.
But there is a way out. It is possible to live in both worlds. We can learn to not only thrive in the virtual world we were born into, but also transform it by sheer will alone so that it more closely resembles the spiritworld we came from. You see, that is the real challenge of living, in my opinion. Our job isn't to simply "try to be good and go to Heaven", because the Light already loves and accepts us unconditionally regardless of what we do. The real challenge is to transform this place into the Light itself. That's been the job and vision of every spiritual master that ever walked the Earth. And the best news? Unlike Neo in The Matrix, becoming free within both worlds does not require dying to achieve.
But it does require a rebirth of consciousness, and that, my friend, cannot be done for you. It is your life, your consciousness, and most importantly, your journey.
