In LINDA GOODMAN'S STAR SIGNS, (now deceased) author Linda Goodman states that the main reason why Jesus had twelve disciples was that each of the Disciples represented one sign, and that Jesus, being the center of the twelve, was able to pull in and assimilate the best qualities of each Disciple, thereby personifying ...the thirteenth sign.¹
These wise words have a direct equivalent within First Nations culture. Our elders often say that a person is not supposed to remain fixed in one place on the great Circle of Life. Instead, we are meant to move around in constant motion - always perfecting ourselves and taking in and assimilating the very best qualities of every Being and experience we come in contact with, thereby helping us become a better person.
So, does the Great Pyramid portray a thirteenth sign? It certainly does - if you take a good look at the Great Seal of the United States - the image residing on the back of the American dollar bill.
THE GREAT SEAL OF THE UNITED STATES.
The first thing that one realizes when looking at the
image on the right is that the Great Seal's pyramid
(as well as the actual Great Pyramid) lacks a
physical capstone. The image shows a spiritual (or
fiery) capstone hovering over a pyramid - with a
large eye inside (we'll get to the significance of the
eye later). The Seal's pyramid possesses thirteen
levels of stone from top to bottom on the pyramid.
The phrase "Annuit Coeptis" also contains thirteen
letters. Question: Could the number thirteen found so
prominently within the Seal's design have less to do
with the "thirteen original colonies" of America than it
does with astrology and becoming a more
holistic person instead? Hmmm...
Incidentally, I've also felt for a long time that the real
reason why many skyrises and skyscrapers lack a
thirteenth floor has nothing to do with the number
thirteen being "unlucky" at all. Perhaps the architects were simply being true to early Masonic teachings and portraying Christ's relationship with the twelve signs in architectural form. Pure genius. And how about the infamous "Friday the thirteenth" phenomenon? Many people today still consider the number thirteen to be ridden with treachery, deceit, and plain old bad luck, but it's hardly unlucky at all if you consider the elements above. We can also look to Hollywood for several clearly outlined mentionings of the number thirteen in blockbusters such as: National Treasure 2 (Nicholas Cage), The Thirteenth Warrior (Antonio Banderas), The Thirteenth Floor (Craig Bierko and Armin Mueller-Stahl) and on and on.
Fine. So what does this all mean to you?
BECOMING THE THIRTEENTH SIGN.
For a moment, imagine being able to relate with
anyone on the entire planet regardless of differences
in language, culture and traditions, beliefs,
their sexual orientation, and financial status. Picture
yourself being able to completely sympathize with
everyone's ideals, fears and doubts, and aspirations.
Eventually, being "at one" with everyone else means
that bickering, jealousy, and disagreements would
lessen (though any healthy couple will tell you that
some degree of discord can actually be a good thing).
Does this sound like something you might like?
Assimilating all of the twelve signs into your character
is your ticket allowing you to experience that reality.
It is a worthwhile goal to achieve because it places
you on even ground with everyone else - giving you
additional insights into their character.
